I am a psychologist holding a PhD in Theoretical Psychology and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology. Throughout my doctoral studies, I focused on schizophrenia and related disorders’ with a sub-specialization in anxiety and depression. I completed my doctoral research at the Clinical Research Center for the Study of Schizophrenia at Zucker Hillside Hospital in Glen Oaks, NY.

I have held the position of Assistant Clinical Director and Director of Clinical Training and Development at a major substance abuse facility in Florida as well as that of a therapist for the Florida prison system.

Currently, I am on faculty in the position of Senior Lecturer, School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Mercy College, NY, where I teach Graduate Psychology courses.

In my position of Research Fellow at the Institute for Social Innovation at Fielding Graduate University, Santa Barbara, California, I investigate the application of theoretical psychological models as they apply to the concept of self-esteem in individuals with schizophrenia. Most recently, I’ve turned my attention towards working with and understanding the substance abuse population.
